1. Programme Overview

This is an official 2+2 international exchange programme jointly launched by Southeast University and the University of Birmingham, open to outstanding undergraduate students majoring in engineering. Upon successful completion of the first two years of undergraduate study at Southeast University, eligible students may apply via the exclusive institutional pathway to join the Year 2 progression programme at the University of Birmingham’s College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. After finishing the subsequent two years of study, students will be awarded a bachelor’s degree from the University of Birmingham.

Applications are submitted through the university’s newly launched exclusive admission system. Backed by the mature collaborative training framework of the two institutions, the programme features seamless curriculum articulation and high credit recognition. After graduation, students may pursue advanced postgraduate programmes including Master of Engineering and Master of Science at the University of Birmingham, with diverse further study options and strong global academic recognition.

2. Application Requirements

Applicants shall have a good academic record with no failed courses in previous undergraduate studies and excellent overall grades. Admission will be offered based on comprehensive academic performance ranking.

Language proficiency shall meet the official entry criteria for engineering programmes at the University of Birmingham. Students may prepare recognised language test scores such as IELTS or TOEFL in advance.

Prior to overseas exchange (upon completion of the sophomore year), students must fully complete all courses specified in the first two years of Southeast University’s training programme, with no failed compulsory courses (including physical education, daily running requirements and other mandatory modules), and meet all credit articulation requirements.

3. Programme Fees & Financial Support

All expenses during study at the University of Birmingham, including tuition fees, accommodation fees, living costs and visa fees, shall be borne by students individually.

Credit Recognition & Institutional Funding: Students who meet the university’s credit recognition and funding criteria may apply for university-level grants for undergraduate international exchange programmes, in accordance with the Revised Measures for Undergraduate International Exchange Funding of Southeast University.

The University of Birmingham will offer merit-based scholarships to outstanding applicants based on their academic performance and application quality. The specific award amount shall be subject to the official notice of the university in the corresponding academic year.

Account Registration: Access the partner institution application portal, click Sign Up Now to register a personal account, fill in basic information, and verify your email with the verification code (a 1-2 minute delay in code delivery is normal).

Institutional Binding: After logging in, search for and bind Southeast University, and enter the exclusive access code: 8750. (Accurate entry is required for application binding; incorrect codes will result in invalid applications.)
